Small-Enterprise Development

Most of the poor people in Kenya, primarily depends on the environment and natural resources for survival. Consequently, depletion of natural resources like forest, water catchment areas and recreational facilities provides an impetus for increased poverty and hunger among poor people. Therefore, we take pride in our environments, we encourage the community to engage in tree planting for markets, fodder production for soil conservation as well as wealth creation and protection of water catchment areas to sustainably empower the community.

We work with smallholder farmers to identify potential small business enterprises which they can engage in. We conduct market analysis and look at the whole agricultural value chain of a farmer’s crop. We promote organic farming, small enterprise development and livelihood diversification as climate change adaptation strategy..

Financial linkages

We work with financial providers and lenders in the community to disseminate information on the existing and affordable products which our members can take care advantage of. We train smallholder farmers on financial literacy, record keeping, small enterprise business plans.

We also greatly emphasize the need to create more village savings groups, cooperatives and self-help groups to build the bargaining power of farmers..
